Good day to you all, hope you are feeling wonderful! I'm a bit annoyed with myself as I was sure I was going to be writing blogs more frequently than I have been. I see Gordon has been king of the blogs. The geek. Anyway, this is a new start for me, definitely more blogs. I bet thats just made your day, hasn't it!
So it has been non-stop since I last dropped in by here. Loads of shows, some wonderful, some good, some okay and some....meh! Been having big fun though and thats the main thing :) We have the last leg of our tour with the Fratellis at the end of the week. It's been great, we've been looked after very well and we've been playing to loads of folk every night. I love both of those things!
We have a few days off so after getting dropped off in Glasgow post our euro weekend (more on that later) I decided to carry on for the extra 190 miles to Elgin to see the family and get some general rancho relaxo times. If you don't mind me saying, I've played an absolute blinder so far! We have a new puppy who I finally got to meet; a 12 week old chocolate labrador called max who is just the coolest wee thing. He's actually asleep at my feet just now...Awwwww! If there's one thing you should know about me is that I probably have a closer bond with dogs than I do with humanoids. I like to think that I have a strong, manly exterior however there is nothing more likely to turn me into a blubbering mess of a man than seeing a three legged dog or one of those adverts showing you little Timmy in peril tied to a lamp post in the pouring rain. That and Will Smith in "The pursuit of happyness". Lewis thinks it is the Smiths worst performance. I think he should throw himself off a fucking cliff!
Jesus, how did I manage to go off on such a tangent?!? High Five!!
So yeah, Euro weekend. Ruddy hell what a time. The shows were both awesome but for me it was all about my first experience in a tour bus. It was something else, fridge full of beers and PS3 with pro evolution soccer (which may I add, I was the undisputed king of). I didn't so much sleep that weekend as pass out in the lounge every now and again. Wonderful. It was also this chaps first time in Amsterdam...I will be back, oh yes, I will be back. London calling was a hell of an occasion and an amazing atmosphere.
Right, I feel I've talked about the band enough, now I get to ramble and if you're not down with that then, to quote Eric Cartman, Get the fudge out!
So Deerhunter are playing in Glasgow on the 15th June. Oh it's on. It's on like Donkey Kong. That now makes my list the Most Serene Republic, Ex-Models, HEALTH and Deerhunter. It almost makes up for me missing ATP. Turns out our lifepal/soundman/TM/driver Iain is getting to go. He won't even like it, he'll just moan about the lack of disco. If you're going to the Explosions in the Sky ATP and you see an angry ginger scotsman clutching a bottle of Laphroaig, kick him in the nuts for me ;)
Oh how the football season has laughed in my face :( My last blog talked of how we were playing celtic in the cup, well, we somehow beat them and oh how i danced! Anywho, we only went and bloody lost in the semi to queen of the bastard south! I had to play a show that night as well but in true Tufnall style I didn't let it affect my performance. I did however storm home shortly after the show, sat in a dark room and did a lot of pondering. What should be my new curse? Answers on a postcard please
I've just realised that I have an absolutely terrible concentration span. I just went on a Youtube hunt for the South Park where they watch Animals close up through a wide angle lens. Whoopaaah
On that note I think I'm gonna have to leave you now, got some serious Sun based relaxing to do!
I've just realised it took me 50 minutes to do that. Like I said, terrible concentration span.
